In the past, builders relied on these additions to provide structural support since large sheets of glass couldn’t be produced in a cost-effective manner. Today, window muntin is mainly used as a design element to enhance the appearance of the glass and add aesthetic appeal. Also referred to as grids or grilles, window muntin is offered in three different styles. Our team uses the simulated divided lite (SDL) style to create the illusion of multiple panes on a larger piece of glass.
