It was more than an old-fashioned sing-along. It was an up-swelling of well-earned team pride. At the Lazy 5 Ranch, site of Custom Glass Products’ 25th Anniversary celebration, CGP team members and their families joined voices in a debut performance of the company’s new theme song. Appropriately, its chorus reprises CGP’s motto and claim to fame – “If you can draw it, we can build it.”
Founded in 1971 by Vic Reeder, still family-run and owned, CGP has become the industry’s leading source of custom-designed and manufactured glass and grids for windows and door inserts, serving homeowners, architects, builders, distributors, and manufacturers.
Maintaining its corporate reputation for doing things differently and creatively, CGP’s “party animals” at Lazy 5 Ranch included frolicking kids and the venue’s exotic menagerie, including a baby giraffe, a rare Grevy Zebra, Scimitar Horned Oryx, and a Ring-Tailed Lemur, viewable in the course of horse-drawn wagon “Safari Ride.” Non-endangered animals such as llamas proved irresistible in Lazy 5’s petting zoo.
Other popular attractions included a working blacksmith shop, horse barn, a rock climbing area, kid’s playground, and a bouncing castle. The unmistakable aroma of classic, Carolina pulled pork barbecue pulled hungry throngs for generous, savory platefuls. A live band, Dashboard Blue kept the party upbeat and moving.
