It’s a timeless style that can add value and character. However, as attractive as these windows and doors may be, they are not necessarily the most energy efficient. These true divided lites (TDLs) consist of multiple, separate panes of glass, which means a larger number of seals that can be broken and a higher potential for drafts. Fortunately, other options exist for those who want to achieve the look of TDLs.

These products offer the appearance of TDLs without the disadvantages that come with multiple panes. Instead, Decralite® glass grids come in two options:

Simulated Divided Lites (SDL) – SDLs place the grilles on one side of the glass pane, offering a grid appearance without requiring individual panes for each cell.
Grid Between Glass (GBG) – GBG options place grilles between two panes of glass. They are easier to clean than SDLs, although SDLs offer a more authentic look for those who want the TDL look.
